In 'House on Wheels - Beyond the Ocean: Hokkaido' Seong Dong-il could not hide his surprise at the gift of a premium Japanese melon that arrived at the filming location for House On Wheels.
On the 16th, the tvN 'House on Wheels - Beyond the Ocean: Hokkaido' aired, featuring Seong Dong-il, Kim Hee-won and Jang Nara roaming various parts of Furano and Biei in Hokkaido together with Ji Seung-hyun and Kim Jun-han.
A delivery box arrived at the place where Seong Dong-il and his party were staying. The sender was Seong-jin, a produce wholesaler whom they had met earlier at the tuna auction market. Inside the box were precious Yubari melons and Furano melons along with corn, potatoes and other items.
Seong Dong-il especially held up a Yubari melon and explained its value. He said, "This melon is a really expensive gift. The really expensive ones can go up to 20 million won," surprising the members. Yubari melons are a specialty of Yubari in Japan, known as luxury gift fruit and a "premium product comparable to wild ginseng."
Reacting to Seong Dong-il's explanation, Kim Hee-won laughed and said, "Why is the markup so extreme?" But Seong Dong-il sincerely thanked Seong-jin, who sent the package, saying, "Maybe not as much as 20 million won, but it is really an expensive gift. He gave us something valuable."
