'Gourmet Heo Yeong-man's meal trip' Heo Yeong-man was wary of food expert Choiza while being surprised by the restaurant map.
On the 16th broadcast, TV CHOSUN 'Gourmet Heo Yeong-man's meal trip' (hereinafter 'Meal Trip') set out to find famous restaurants in Chungju with Choiza of Dynamic Duo, a living history of hip-hop.
That day, Heo Yeong-man, when Choiza, who hosts his namesake food variety show 'Choiza Road', appeared, said, "Aren't we rivals in the same industry?" in a self-conscious manner. Choiza joked, "I'm originally a music person."
The two visited a 100-year-old restaurant that has been run by the same family for five generations. While waiting for the food, Heo Yeong-man asked, "Do you have a lot of restaurants you note down?" Choiza revealed a densely packed restaurant map, saying, "These days people use their phones a lot," drawing attention.
Heo Yeong-man was surprised, saying, "It looks like someone sprinkled sesame seeds," and Choiza expressed excitement, saying, "There aren't many around Chungju. It's empty around Chungju. So I felt good today. I thought I might be able to learn about Chungju's famous restaurants by coming here."
At the first stop, tasting side dishes made with the natural flavor of ingredients and mulberry leaf rice made with 100-year-old brewed soy sauce, Choiza couldn't hide his smile, saying, "It's delicious."
He went on to analyze, "Even soy sauce tastes different from place to place, but this place naturally tastes like the original soy sauce. The umami is spot on. The mulberry leaves themselves are limp and not exciting, but when eaten with the rice you feel a chewy texture."
Having cleaned his plate, Choiza added, "This will probably make it onto the restaurant map. Of course it should be on there."
When asked about 'Choiza Road', Choiza explained, "I go to restaurants I like, and among them, the ones that pair better with soju? It captures us having fun eating and talking with friends."
He added, "But almost all the time when I said, 'This place is good,' the place had a Meal Trip tag," which made Heo Yeong-man laugh.
The second stop was a buckwheat noodle restaurant. While eating noodles, Choiza performed an impromptu rap at a fan's request, and the fan shyly approached and asked for a photo, recalling memories with Choiza from 16 years ago.
The fan said, "I'm a dancer and I met him backstage after a concert. Sixteen years ago at a concert I went to the back and asked for a photo," and revealed a photo taken together along with the anecdote, saying, "(At the time) I felt sorry to ask for a photo because you were breathing heavily after the performance, but you said, 'Oh, come here,' and willingly agreed to a photo."
Later, Choiza warmed hearts by taking another selfie with the fan he met again after 10 years.
Meanwhile, Heo Yeong-man and Choiza lastly visited a restaurant where a pheasant course was served. Amazed by the unusual taste, he said, "Chungju was an unknown world to me, but I feel like I now know it a bit," and shared his impressions.<
