Group (G)I-DLE member Miyeon (MIYEON) successfully concluded promotions for her second mini album "MY, Lover".
Miyeon completed two weeks of promotions for her second mini album "MY, Lover" on SBS' Inkigayo, which aired on the 16th. The album received praise by sequentially capturing moments of parting and lingering attachment, regret and recollection, and overcoming and devotion across seven tracks, including the title track "Say My Name" and the pre-release track "Reno (Feat. Colde)".
Following the release, Miyeon continued music show promotions for the title track "Say My Name" for two weeks and drew attention for stage manners befitting a hexagonal artist. Miyeon appeared on KBS2 MUSIC BANK, MBC Show! Music Core and SBS' Inkigayo, delivering highly polished live performances with her deepened tone and stable vocals.
Her domestic and international results were also outstanding. "MY, Lover" recorded a career high by surpassing 200,000 copies, double the initial sales of her first mini album "MY," and immediately after release demonstrated its global chart presence by ranking No. 1 on mainland Chinese major music platforms QQ Music and Kugou Music, entering the iTunes top album charts in 18 countries, and placing high on Apple Music in 10 countries.
Major overseas media also focused on the vocal capabilities shown in the second mini album and Miyeon's performance. U.S. pop culture magazine Stardust praised, "She explores a new texture of sound with more precise breath control while not losing the precise expressiveness she showed on 'MY'," and Italian magazine Panorama noted, "Instead of rushing or pushing, Miyeon refines, halts K-pop's formulaic conventions and returns to narrative," highlighting her new musical attempts.
Miyeon's fiery finale to promotions for the second mini album was adorned with a special clip for the album track "F.F.L.Y." "F.F.L.Y" is a song Miyeon co-wrote that metaphorically captures the emotions felt at the end of a love. In the special clip, Miyeon passionately sings inside a ruined building and within a glass room separated by glass partitions. In particular, the video effect of the season shifting from summer to winter, combined with Miyeon's restrained emotional expression, deeply completed the song's emotional line.
After finishing promotions for the second mini album "MY, Lover," Miyeon will meet global fans as an MC and performer at Dream Concert Abu Dhabi 2025, held in Abu Dhabi on the 22nd.
