Group NewJeans members Min-ji, Hanni and Danielle notified ADOR of their return, and could the "member who went to Antarctica" they mentioned be Hanni?
On the 17th one outlet reported that Hanni did not attend the meeting held on the 11th between ADOR CEO Lee Do-kyung, NewJeans members and guardians because she was staying abroad.
According to the report, at that meeting the prerequisites and demands for returning to the agency were reportedly discussed, and Hanni conveyed her intention not to attend because she was staying abroad. This led to speculation that the "member who went to Antarctica" mentioned when Min-ji, Hanni and Danielle notified ADOR of their return might be Hanni.
Hanni's trip to Antarctica had been suggested earlier on online communities and social media. One netizen said they met Hanni in Ushuaia, Argentina, known as the city closest to Antarctica in the world, and received an autograph, saying she looked happy and had brown hair. Along with the sighting, a photo presumed to be Hanni's handwritten autograph was released, but its authenticity has not been confirmed.
On the 12th ADOR announced that Haerin and Hye-in would return to the agency and continue activities. This comes about a year after they declared the termination of their exclusive contracts, and about 10 days after the court ruled in ADOR's favor.
About two hours after the official announcement of Haerin and Hye-in's return, Min-ji, Hanni and Danielle, through legal representatives, notified of their return saying, "After careful discussion we recently decided to return to ADOR. One member is currently in Antarctica, so our message was delayed, and because ADOR did not respond we regrettably had to separately announce our position. We will continue to meet you with music and performances made with all our sincerity."
ADOR said it was "checking the facts" and took a reserved stance, then added, "We are coordinating individual interview schedules with the members and will do our best to ensure smooth discussions."
Meanwhile, former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin said of NewJeans' return to ADOR, "If the members discussed and decided to return together, I respect that courage," and "NewJeans exist only when there are five." She also recently told lawyer Roh Young-hee's side, "Now that the kids are back, these five should be treasured. The issue may be aimed at me, but please do not drag the kids into the process. The kids must be protected and must not be used."
