Former soccer player Lee Dong-gook's wife, Lee Soo-jin, shared her parenting beliefs gained from raising five children.
On the 16th, Lee Soo-jin posted a long message and a family photo on her social media, opening with the sentence, "What matters more than talent on any path is 'how faithfully you walk the path you chose yourself.'"
She added, "Watching Jae-ah and Si-an's lives in tennis·golf·soccer reminds me of that fact again." She candidly revealed that the two children had clear goals from a young age and quietly accumulated time more than anyone else.
Lee Soo-jin mentioned the coldness of the sports world, saying, "If you look only at results, it ends with winning or losing, but the process is overwhelming for anyone and sometimes fiercely competitive to the point of being cold." From a parent's perspective there were many anxious moments, but she confessed, "The reason I keep cheering is the small changes children show as they grow."
She also shared the parenting philosophy she gained from years on the field, saying, "What's needed to go to a bigger stage is not just skill. Attitudes like mindset, posture, perseverance and teamwork are the forces that shape a player."
Finally, Lee Soo-jin said, "Children and all of us grow at our own pace. Even if results don't come quickly, if the direction is right I believe you will eventually arrive," and vowed, "I want to become a stronger mother for our five children."
The released photo showed Lee Dong-gook, daughter Jae-ah and son Si-an standing affectionately together, conveying the family's strong energy.
Meanwhile, Lee Soo-jin, who is a 1997 Miss Korea Hawaii winner, married Lee Dong-gook in 2005 and they have five children. The couple won much love by sharing daily life with their five children on KBS2 The Return of SUPERMAN.
