Netflix mega-series 'Stranger Things' star Millie Bobby Brown clashed with a paparazzo on the London red carpet, drawing attention, the Daily Mail reported on the 15th (local time).
According to the report, Brown attended the "Stranger Things" season 5 (final season) premiere on the 14th (local time) at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square, London, U.K. At the event, when a photographer shouted to her, "Smile!", Brown immediately shot back, "Smile? Then you smile!" and quickly walked down the carpet. The scene was filmed on site and went viral on social media in an instant.
Reactions split immediately on social media. Some criticized, "Celebrities these days are all so sensitive," while other netizens defended her, saying, "She's just 21, a young mother handling parenting and marriage. We should cut her some slack."
Brown married Jake Bongiovi (23), son of John Bongiovi of the Jonas Brothers, in May last year. This summer the two adopted a child and became parents. This red carpet was their first official appearance since the adoption.
But the tension surrounding this premiere was not limited to that. Recently it was reported that Brown filed a complaint alleging harassment and bullying against fellow actor David Harbour, sparking controversy. Mail on Sunday reported that Harbour underwent an internal investigation, which was conducted over several months. Fortunately, there were no reports of sexual misconduct or inappropriate behavior.
Nonetheless, the two smiled naturally and posed on the red carpet, easing the tension at the scene.
That day Brown exuded a mature air in a black lace off-shoulder dress and drew attention with her hair dyed red and elegantly tied up, while Harbour appeared in a classic pinstripe suit, maintaining his mustache as a trademark.
As befits one of Netflix's flagship shows, this season 5 has an unusual release format. The first four episodes will be released on Nov. 26, then three more episodes will be released on Christmas (Dec. 25), and the finale will be presented as a "theatrical finale," released simultaneously in theaters and on Netflix.
A Netflix insider said, "Nothing can interfere with the end of this show. The personal issues of the lead actors are no exception."
