Singer Lee Hyori honestly confessed she can no longer do smoky makeup because of crow's feet, surprising fans.
On the 15th, in "Just Makeup candid review episodes 7–10 with Hyori" released on the YouTube channel "Hong's MakeuPlay Hong imo," Lee Hyori looked back on the program she participated in as an MC.
While watching the video, Lee Hyori said, "Do vertical wrinkles form later around the eyes? I only get horizontal wrinkles," and frankly shared her thoughts on aging. She went on to explain why she no longer does smoky makeup, saying, "I don't put dark colors around my eyes anymore. If I do, the wrinkles stand out more, and the fact that my eyes are uneven becomes more noticeable."
Receiving a question from fans asking, "Why don't you do smoky makeup?" Lee Hyori burst into laughter and said, "You guys don't know. I want to do it too."
In the past, smoky eye makeup and red lipstick were Lee Hyori's signature styles. At her confession, even Millennials and Gen Z fans who were referring to Lee Hyori's heyday fashion amid the returning Y2K trend were shocked.
One internet user wrote, "Because of Hyori unnie I bought hoop earrings and a toned-down brown foundation, but aging?" in surprise, and another fan left, "Unnie is still the Yoo-Girl look in my heart back then," reminiscing.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori was born in 1979 and is 46 this year. After marrying Lee Sang-soon in 2013, she settled in Jeju and has continued a life close to nature. Recently she opened "Ananda Yoga" in Yeonhui-dong, Seoul, announcing her full-fledged transformation into a yoga instructor.
