The country's first detective and show host Yeom Kyung-hwan revealed his own method for identifying adulterous couples.
On the 15th aired MBN variety show "Sokpuri Show Dongchimi," show host Yeom Kyung-hwan, culinary researcher Lee Hye-jung, and the country's first detective Im Byung-soo, among others, granted a discussion under the theme "Please stop the wandering."
On the broadcast, Yeom Kyung-hwan explained how he recognizes adulterous couples based on the "sense" he developed during his days as a reporter. When MC Kim Yong-man asked, "Is it true you could immediately tell adulterous couples when you were a reporter?" Yeom Kyung-hwan confidently replied, "It's true. I'm not a detective, but I have a sense."
Yeom Kyung-hwan began by explaining, "I worked as a restaurant reporter for a long time. Famous restaurants like chicken stew or eel places are often located near Seoul."
He said, "When you go to eat eel, there are couples dressed in suits. Usually spouses come in tracksuits and eat to their fill, but these couples come in suits, don't even eat half of the expensive eel, and get up."
He continued, "You all know how much one portion of eel costs. If they leave more than half of that expensive dish and suddenly say 'let's go' and get up, it's 100%. They hurry to pay and leave, worried about being filmed," he said, provoking laughter from the cast.
Yeom Kyung-hwan added that he saw similar situations at chicken stew restaurants. He said, "True chicken stew should be finished with porridge at the end, but sometimes they tear off one leg and then say 'let's get up,' 'let's go.' If they come in suits and leave without eating half, it's the same," emphasizing his "sense."
In response, the country's first detective Im Byung-soo said, "That's right. Couples cook at home. Ordering eel pre-grilled and finishing it in a pan is cheaper," agreeing and turning the set into a sea of laughter once again. The cast nodded, saying, "It's a sense born from experience," and "hearing it, it sounds so realistic."<
