Comedian Park Mi-sun has been actively engaging with the public after returning to broadcasting on "You Quiz on the Block" roughly 10 months after battling breast cancer.
Park Mi-sun recently posted new content on her personal account for the first time in about six months. She shared a photo taken with Yoo Jae-suk and Cho Sae-ho on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" (hereafter "You Quiz") and said, "I agonized so much over whether to go or not… I agonized so much over whether to wear a wig or not, but so many people were so curious and worried that I mustered the courage to go on the show."
She added, "My only schedule this year. Today the 12th I talked about various things on You Quiz, but because it was my first time on a show in a long time I was a little worried. Anyway, thank you to everyone who worried about me."
And on the 12th she greeted the public again through "You Quiz" after a long time. Park Mi-sun said, "Everyone was only watching my cues. I had to act like everything was fine so they would worry less. Even when I'm in pain, I can't show it much. In fact, even if I want to cry, I can't cry as I please. How upset would they be if I did that? So I walked and cried while taking walks. At those times I would tell myself, 'It's okay. It will be okay,' and I comforted myself a lot," conveying private hardships that moved listeners.
She continued, "Many women told me they cried when cutting their hair. But it grows back. And I thought, when will I ever try that hairstyle again, so I really enjoyed it (shaving my head). I also took a profile photo. With a shaved head. Thinking, 'When will I try something like this again?' Of course my daughter told me to go, so I went, and I'm glad I had it taken. I wore a suit and took a cool photo," expressing satisfaction.
Park Mi-sun suddenly stopped activities early this year, causing concern. At the time it was only reported that she was resting for health reasons, but soon it was revealed that she was battling breast cancer, shocking the public. She was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer through a health checkup and is undergoing treatment. She said she has completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 16 rounds of radiation therapy and is continuing medication treatment.
After appearing on "You Quiz," Park Mi-sun has been actively communicating by posting everyday photos on her personal account. On the 14th she said, "My mom came all the way to Paju to buy me a meal and bought meat for me… Whenever she thinks of me she seems to cry like that. Stay healthy for a long time," and added photos while noting, "A spontaneous mothers-and-daughters gathering from 'Soonpoong Obstetrics and Gynecology.'"
On the 15th she wrote, "Are you enjoying the fall? From Gyeongbokgung to Buam-dong, I'm enjoying this leisure while living here," and said, "I visited a place called Seokpajeong for the first time and the autumn leaves were so beautiful it felt like a dream, it was a truly happy walk."
She added, "Autumn foliage walk. Posting photos like this feels good. Have a nice day," and shared photos enjoying the fall.
