NewJeans(NewJeans) confirmed their unwavering popularity by winning an award at a domestic music ceremony that is chosen by votes from global fans.
NewJeans(Min-ji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hye-in) became the winner in the 'Trend of the Year' K-pop group category at the '2025 Korea Grand Music Awards with iM Bank' (hereafter '2025 KGMA'), held on the 14th at Incheon Inspire Arena.
'Trend of the year' is an award selected based on the combined results of 'Trend of the month' held over the past year. The KGMA organizing committee selected each month's trend-leading star in each popular music category by vote and awarded 'Trend of the month.'
NewJeans won two awards at this ceremony last year, including the highest honor, the 'Grand Artist.' Continued love and interest from global music fans this year once again proved NewJeans' irreplaceable presence.
NewJeans sparked a global phenomenon upon their debut in 2022. Starting with debut tracks 'Attention' and 'Hype Boy,' songs including 'Ditto,' 'OMG,' 'Super Shy,' 'ETA,' as well as 'How Sweet' and their Japanese debut single 'Supernatural' have hit domestic and international charts every time they released music.
On the world's largest music streaming platform Spotify, NewJeans' cumulative total plays for all songs exceed 6.9 billion. NewJeans' songs still appear on domestic and international charts, demonstrating the staying power of NewJeans' music that continues to be loved over time.
