Singer Kyuhyun embraces a classical sensibility and delivers the dignity of ballads.
His label Antenna on the 14th posted an album preview of Kyuhyun's EP "The Classic" on its official YouTube channel.
The released album preview sequentially played portions of highlight audio tracks for a total of five songs, including the title track 'Like the first snow', 'Nap', 'Goodbye, My Friend', 'Living in memories', and 'Compass'.
'Nap' invites listeners with Kyuhyun's own classical sensibility as soft piano, bass and string sounds blend together; 'Like the first snow' starts calmly with a lyrical melody and features Kyuhyun's increasingly intense, heartbreaking singing; 'Goodbye, My Friend' leaves a deep aftertaste with Kyuhyun's plaintive vocals; 'Living in memories' evokes a heavy emotional line with warm acoustic guitar and string sounds; and 'Compass' adds dramatic sensibility throughout the song with smoothly flowing piano lines and string sounds, raising expectations with signature Kyuhyun-style ballads included.
'The Classic' is Kyuhyun's new album released about a year after his full-length album 'COLORS', which came out in November last year. It consists of ballads that evoke a classical sensibility, and a number of prominent contributors, including label head Yoo Hee-yeol, Shim Hyun-bo, Min Yeon-jae and Seo Dong-hwan, lent support to raise the musical completeness to the highest level.
In particular, Kyuhyun is expected to present deepened emotion by precisely expressing the emotional lines of each song. Kyuhyun's vocals, outstanding for dense emotional expression, combined with a refined sound that focuses on the instruments' natural tones, are expected to further elevate the dignity of the ballads.
Kyuhyun's EP 'The Classic' will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 20th.
