HYBE Latin America's band Destino released their new song "Algo para siempre" on the 14th (Korea time).
The song, which means "something eternal" in Korean, blends the sounds of various instruments such as percussion, bass, guitar and accordion harmoniously to create a romantic atmosphere. The lyrics, which explore the meaning of true love and relationships that remain unchanged even as time passes, are impressive. The members said they "wanted to make a song about true love that is built together every day, even if it's not perfect."
The music video for "Algo para siempre" was directed by Camila Grandi, who was nominated for a Latin Grammy. The filming captures fans participating with their own "Algo para siempre (something eternal)" and enjoying Destino's performance. Various forms of emotion, such as familial love, friendship and affection for pets, warm viewers' hearts. Seven candid interviews were also produced and will be uploaded to Destino's official YouTube channel.
Destino was formed through "Pase a la Fama," the first local band audition program jointly planned by HYBE Latin America and U.S. Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo. Based in northern Mexico, they reinterpret norteño (Norteño) music in a modern sensibility and finished third on the program, gaining recognition for their charm and skill, after which they signed with HYBE and began full-scale activities. HYBE Latin America and S1ENTO Records described Destino as "creating innovative music by mixing tradition, youth and new musical narratives."
Destino consists of six members from different backgrounds and experiences who create music with a distinctive color. Vocalist Luis, who has continued band activities since age 15; Alan, who moved through percussion and drums and now plays bajo quinto; bassist Juan, who quit a job he had held for 10 years to audition after he couldn't let go of his passion for music; guitarist José, who grew up influenced by his great-grandfather who was a composer; acordeonist Felipe from Monterrey; and drummer Martín, who began music in a family band, are the core members.
Antes of the official release, Destino previewed "Algo para siempre" on the big stage of Mexico's large music festival "Festival ARRE" in September and received an enthusiastic response. "Festival ARRE" is a representative music festival in Latin America featuring artists representing Mexican music such as Fuerza Regida, Eslabón Armado and Grupo Firme. At this stage, Destino delivered a highly polished performance uncharacteristic of rookies and cemented their presence. They will also perform at the "Bendito Rodeo" festival in Mexico on the 22nd.
Under chairman Bang Si-hyuk's "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy, HYBE is transplanting the K-pop production system into the global music market and expanding its influence. In 2023, HYBE established HYBE Latin America, acquired the local label Exile Music and is actively conducting rookie development projects.
Through the reality program "SANTOS BRAVOS," a five-member boy band of the same name debuted on Oct. 21, and the band audition program "Pase a la Fama" produced promising new artists such as Musza, the winning team, and Low Clika.
