Actor Lee Young-ae donated 10 million won for a Thai national who collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage while learning Korean at Chonnam National University.
On the 14th, according to Chonnam National University, Lee Young-ae donated 10 million won to Chonnam National University's relief volunteer club "Rhythm of Hope."
Sirinya, who was learning Korean at the university's language education institute, was found unconscious at her dormitory in July, was diagnosed with subdural hemorrhage and has been receiving hospital treatment in a coma since then.
When it became known that her financial situation made treatment and returning home uncertain, students and faculty voluntarily began fundraising centered on Chonnam National University's relief volunteer club "Rhythm of Hope." The initial target was 9 million won, but with participation from campus members and citizens the amount raised more than doubled.
Lee Young-ae, who participated in the fundraising, said, "I am rather grateful that the students did such a good thing."
