'What to leave behind' Huh Kyung-hwan expressed hurt feelings toward John Park.
In the episode of the tvN STORY variety show "What to Leave Behind" broadcast on the 12th, Huh Kyung-hwan was shown expressing resentment toward John Park and Lee Yeon-bok.
Earlier, John Park secretly held a wedding with a non-celebrity woman in 2022, and the following year he welcomed his first daughter.
On the day, Lee Young-ja mentioned John Park's wedding, and Huh Kyung-hwan quickly tried to stop her. It turned out that Lee Yeon-bok had been invited but Huh Kyung-hwan had not been. John Park explained the reason, saying, "I didn't make my wedding a big event, and for the chef, I still went to his restaurant about once a year to bring my family and see him. Kyung-hwan hyung (older brother) hasn't kept in touch well since the program."
Lee Young-ja said, "They say Kyung-hwan didn't go to John Park's wedding," bringing up rumors of discord. Huh Kyung-hwan said, "You could say I didn't go. The important thing is I first saw it in an article. He might have been very busy, could have done it on a small scale, and I understood it in my own way."
He continued, "But on John Park's wedding day the chef called. 'Are you going to John Park's wedding? When are you going?' he asked," and beside him Lee Yeon-bok awkwardly laughed, saying, "Of course I thought he'd go."
Huh Kyung-hwan also said, "I didn't receive an invitation. Maybe there was a reason they didn't invite me. I thought about slipping in to see which other celebrities they invited, but I was worried it might look tawdry," and expressed his hurt, saying, "The chef also doesn't usually do things like that, so I wondered, 'Why wouldn't they?'."
Then Lee Yeon-bok said, "Is there a story I don't know? Did the two maybe fight? Did something bad happen? I thought about many things." John Park replied, "I couldn't even invite Eric and Min-woo hyung. Only the chef was given a wedding invitation, so don't be too upset. When you get married, I'll definitely go," he said.
Later, through the "I see" game, Huh Kyung-hwan once again voiced his hurt over the wedding invitation. He said, "Weddings are so hectic and it's the first time, so that can happen, but be sure to invite me to the first birthday party."
However, John Park's daughter was already past her second birthday. A startled Huh Kyung-hwan said, "I see. The first birthday has already passed. I didn't know. I misspoke."
John Park joked, "It was an eight-person first birthday party for family only, so you couldn't be invited and you felt hurt, I see. For the second child, make sure you sit next to my baby. I'll definitely invite you."
Meanwhile, Huh Kyung-hwan and John Park teamed up to express resentment toward Lee Yeon-bok. First, Huh Kyung-hwan said, "There are so many famous people around the chef, and we've known each other a long time. He never posts photos of the two of us on social media and only posts photos of BTS Jimin. When will you post a photo of me?"
John Park added, "I've still been to the restaurant quite a few times," and said, "He posted only once, and it was when I was with Lee Juk hyung." Then Lee Yeon-bok said, "I see," hurriedly picked up his phone to take a selfie with them and immediately uploaded it to social media, drawing laughter.
