Ivy and Ji Hyun-woo, the leads of the musical Redbook on "Radio Star," laid out candid stories.
On the 12th episode of the MBC entertainment show "Radio Star," the lead actors of the musical "Redbook" appeared. Ji Hyun-woo said that, since this is his return to musicals after 11 years, he is pouring his passion into the set and the rehearsal room. Ivy said, "She comes even on days without rehearsal. When the other actor who is double-cast performs, she comes out and acts in her own waiting room exactly as if it were the real scene," revealing Ji Hyun-woo's passion.
Ji Hyun-woo humbly said, "After all, Ivy is doing 'Redbook' for the third time, and the other actors are musical actors, so there are things I lack. I want it to become second nature to me." Ivy said, "I heard she even came on the day the stage was built," and Ji Hyun-woo said, "I went out because I wanted to feel that space a bit."
But because of Ji Hyun-woo's calm yet work-focused personality, Ivy said she does not tease him much. Ivy said, "There is a scene where a newlywed couple looks at each other and things go tumbling. With other actors I take off clothes or make those kinds of moves. But Ji Hyun-woo came and said, 'I would prefer if you didn't do that to me,'" she said. Ji Hyun-woo then tried to explain, saying, "I just want a scene where I give a pretty kiss and then move away."
He said that during the film shoot with Ko Doo-shim he actually filmed the kiss scene one more time, explaining, "It's a work that depicts the transcendental love between a Jeju haenyeo and a documentary producer. There was also a kiss scene in a cave. But I wanted to do it one more time. The first kiss was passionate. I wanted it to be a bit more girlish," saying it was for the character played by Ko Doo-shim.
Ji Hyun-woo's daily life was either immersing himself in acting or hiking and enjoying nature. Ji Hyun-woo said he even lived in Jeju during the film shoot with Ko Doo-shim. Hearing this, Kim Gu-ra asked, "Wouldn't that make a girlfriend dislike it?" Ji Hyun-woo said, "After this, I'm just living without dating," which surprised everyone.
Ivy showed a witty and lively manner of speech, just as striking as her debut image.
However, he also faced something heavy on the way to reestablishing himself as a musical actor: stage fright. Ivy said, "After playing bright, free and wildly spirited roles, in 2016 I played the role of 'Aida.' At first it's a cheerful princess who overcomes adversity and becomes a charismatic queen. It's a dream role for actresses, but when I did it I took medication for stage fright. In fact, I took stage fright medicine today as well," and added, "I couldn't sleep until 4 a.m. yesterday. I'm so afraid of coming to an unfamiliar space, a space I'm not prepared for."
Ivy then addressed rumors of living with Song Seung-heon, saying, "My dog's name is Song Seung-heon. A dog from a shelter I've sponsored for a long time looks really unique. When you see the face you'll know why. And the name is 'Park Song Seung-heon.'" She added, "I posted the pet registration certificate from the district office on SNS and an article said, 'Ivy is living with Song Seung-heon.' Then he went to play golf and saw Song Seung-heon in person. I was embarrassed and didn't say anything, but a friend of Song Seung-heon told him to 'go bark at Ivy,'" making everyone laugh.
