Im Lala shared her feelings after overcoming a life-threatening postpartum hemorrhage.
On the 12th, a new video was posted on the YouTube channel 'Enjoy Couple' titled "The moment of reunion with the twins after a near-fatal postpartum hemorrhage."
That day Son Minsu said, "I was at the postpartum care center early in the morning and suddenly..." as she updated viewers about coming to the emergency room. After receiving treatment and returning to the postpartum care center, the two continued parenting calmly and talked.
Im Lala said, "Now I have twins. My uterus is enlarged up to my solar plexus, and because it has to shrink, uterine contractions come, and it's 50 times worse than menstrual cramps. I screamed like labor pains, but yesterday I couldn't endure it and took a strong painkiller, and now I can't breastfeed. I have to discard the colostrum for two days."
In the meantime, Im Lala had been to the intensive care unit because of postpartum hemorrhage. Afterwards she uploaded a video herself explaining the situation at the time. Enjoy Couple expressed gratitude, saying, "We once again thank the paramedics and all the medical staff who worked hard during the postpartum hemorrhage when every minute and second was critical, and the many people who offered sincere support and prayers."
After Im Lala overcame the life-threatening situation, Son Minsu bought dumplings for his wife and headed to the hospital. Back in the ward, Im Lala said, "I never want to be there again. All I could do was look at the ceiling and pray. I miss my mother, I miss Minsu," and Son Minsu sympathized, saying, "I felt so helpless outside too."
Im Lala also confessed, "But I was really so scared. There are many people who recover healthily after childbirth. There must be people like me, too. I didn't know childbirth was like this. When I was pregnant I avoided negative posts. I only read good stories. But when this happened to me, I didn't know what to do and I was completely overwhelmed."
Im Lala said she stopped the bleeding without anesthesia, adding, "Enduring that was so hard. I don't even want to think about it or go back. In the ICU there was no cellphone, so in that painful state I wanted to see my husband, I wanted to see my mother, I wanted to see the baby."
Son Minsu said, "I asked, and there aren't many obstetricians who can fully handle such procedures. So skilled personnel are scarce," and Im Lala gravely said, "But that means I was lucky; if you were unlucky you could die."
Son Minsu said, "There are people who live far from hospitals, too. It's unimaginable how lucky you have to be. People prayed a lot for their health and contacted me a lot," and Im Lala said, "I still can't believe I'm talking with my husband like this right now."
After discharge, on the way home Im Lala said, "I can't believe it. The sky is beautiful. I can't believe I can see it. I'm thankful for the prayers. This is a time to be grateful for everything. Even at this moment going to see the babies, I'm so thankful," and she cried when she saw the children again.
