'Brave Detective4' digs into the truth behind a string of mysterious murders.
On the 14th, T-cast E Channel's 'Brave Detective4' (directed by Lee Ji-seon) episode 58 features detectives Shin Jae-jin and Choi Young-cheol and former police commissioner Yoon Oe-chul and Inspector Kim Jin-su of the Korea Crime Scene Investigation (KCSI), who reveal investigation logs they personally solved.
The case introduced in this episode began with a report that a woman living in the downstairs unit had collapsed, bleeding profusely. The woman, found face down in the middle of the living room, had a 15 cm flat-head screwdriver driven so deep into her shoulder that only the handle was visible. There were no signs of forced entry, and because an intercom was installed, it was likely the victim opened the door herself.
The victim was a second-generation ethnic Korean from Sakhalin, Russia, who came to Korea six years earlier with her husband; the husband had left for a trip to Japan the day before the incident. The husband, who returned urgently, showed no emotional disturbance during police questioning, and most notably, wiretaps captured him speaking in Russian on the phone with a man, saying things like "the investigation seems to be closing in" and "I will soon go to Seoul to get a newspaper," which raised suspicions. The program digs into whether the husband was involved in his wife's death and who the man on the call was.
Next, the KCSI-introduced case began when a fire broke out at a scrap shop inside an industrial complex. A woman was found dead in a room on the second floor where the fire occurred; the victim was a woman in her 50s who ran the scrap shop and lived on the building's second floor with her children.
Although the scrap shop's CCTV had been turned off since the night before the incident, detectives found nearby CCTV footage that captured a man loitering around the scrap shop starting two hours before the fire. The man purchased the weapon at a supermarket and had already visited the scrap shop once before. Viewers can find out what happened to the victim and why the man visited the scrap shop twice on 'Brave Detective4'.
Meanwhile, 'Brave Detective4' airs every Friday at 9:50 p.m., and is also available on major OTTs such as Netflix, TVing and Wavve. <
