Actor Ji Chang-wook will show romantic comedy chemistry with Japanese actress Imada Mio.
On the 13th, the 2025 Disney+ APAC and global content presentation was held at the Cinderella Ballroom in the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Conference Center.
More than 400 reporters from around the world attended the event, and a total of 14 countries participated, including Korea, Japan, the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, Mexico and Brazil.
The two-day "Disney+ Originals Preview 2025" at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel is an event where attendees can preview APAC and global original content set to be released on Disney+. Alongside APAC originals from countries including Korea and Japan, the general entertainment lineup was introduced, and the Japan-Korea co-production series "Merry Berry Love" was also unveiled.
"Merry Berry Love" is a series featuring actor Ji Chang-wook and Japan's Imada Mio. It is being produced across Japan and Korea and is scheduled for exclusive release next year. It is Disney+'s first multinational work and its first Korea-Japan co-production project.
On the day, Ji Chang-wook said, "First of all, the character's setting itself was interesting. And I really wanted to work in Japan. When I was offered 'Merry Berry Love' this time, I felt a great expectation that it could be a very fun collaboration. I also have high expectations for Imada Mio, so I'm very excited," adding, "It's a very first-time kind of project for me, so I'm nervous, but I prepared hard, so I'm very much looking forward to it. Mio is currently filming, and I think I'll join the shoot starting this Sunday. It seems like it will be a lot of fun, and I hope people look forward to it a lot."
Regarding the chemistry shown between different nationalities, Ji Chang-wook said, "The drama contains humanism and love. How that love will be realized beyond cultural barriers is also a point of interest, so I hope people look forward to it," and he previewed, "In terms of the story, my character is set up as someone who can't speak Japanese. So from the first meeting there will be clumsy, chaotic fun. As it goes on, there will still be moments of communication developing."
