A woman, A, who revealed actor Lee Yi-kyung's private life suddenly reversed her stance.
On the 4th, immediately after news broke that Lee Yi-kyung was leaving Hangout With Yoo, A posted an enigmatic message on her social account saying, "I'm thinking about reposting the proof.. It feels wrong to end it like this.. haha it's not AI so I feel somewhat wronged.. making the bad guy into a victim.."
Previously, last month A posted allegations exposing Lee Yi-kyung's private life, causing a stir. On her blog she posted under the title "reveal the actor's alleged true colors of Lee Yi-kyung," sharing captured messages she said were sexual conversations exchanged with Lee Yi-kyung. The post was deleted but then quickly spread through online communities, amplifying the controversy.
In response, Lee Yi-kyung's agency, Sangyoung ENT, said, "All the content being circulated on online communities and social media is false," and warned of legal action, saying, "We are preparing legal measures for damages caused by the spread of false information and malicious rumors, and will calculate the direct and indirect damage in accordance with the seriousness of this matter and take all measures."
The agency said, "The poster has a prior record of demanding money and making threats several months ago with similar false content," and argued, "At that time the poster acknowledged the falsehood and sent a direct apology email. Nevertheless, they again posted the same claims online."
However, through her social account A insisted her claim was true, saying, "The post I made yesterday was not for money, but because (Lee Yi-kyung) made such strong remarks and I wanted to prevent other women from experiencing the same thing," and adding, "My Korean is poor. I have been self-studying Korean for eight years, and I am German, not a scammer."
She bolstered the controversy by releasing additional conversation captures and videos, saying, "There are many things I couldn't capture. I don't want to say there is no evidence. I am currently collecting verification," and added, "There was an article saying the company said 'it's false,' but that was because of threatening responses at the time," insisting, "It wasn't for money."
Meanwhile, A reversed her position just days after posting the exposé, saying, "It was a joke," causing confusion. She said, "Recently I posted a lot of photos related to actor Lee Yi-kyung. The post that started as a joke I didn't think would receive such attention. As I kept writing posts and using AI images, I began to actually think that way," and apologized, "I'm truly sorry for spreading what became a malicious rumor about actor Lee Yi-kyung," then deleted her account.
Some claimed the accuser posted that she had been "threatened by Lee Yi-kyung's side," but after account restoration A explained, "I neither received money nor was I threatened." The next day she added a conflicting claim, "No matter how good AI has become, you can't make a celebrity's face or photos," deepening the confusion.
Ultimately, on the 3rd of this month Sangyoung ENT issued an additional statement saying, "Through our legal representative we have submitted damage materials and filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul against the authors and distributors of the related posts on charges of spreading false information and defamation," and emphasized, "The company did not attempt any settlement or compensation related to this matter and makes it clear that it will not proceed in any form in the future."
Despite the agency's complaint notice, A continued to reverse her stance and hinted at further revelations. One netizen questioned, "Weren't you sued?" and A retorted, "Huh, I wasn't sued." After seeing reports containing the agency's complaint notice, A claimed, "AI was a lie but that's news to me," drawing attention to her future actions.
Meanwhile, Lee Yi-kyung recently left MBC's Hangout With Yoo. The production team said, "He has struggled with participation in the program due to schedules including overseas commitments and recently expressed his intention to leave," and added, "We respect Lee Yi-kyung's decision and, after discussion, decided to support each other's paths. We thank Lee Yi-kyung for showing passion despite his busy schedule." They also reported that his planned appearance on KBS2's The Return of SUPERMAN fell through, but the show's side has not disclosed specific reasons.<
