Actor Hwang In-yeop will appear in "Dear X".
The makers of the recently released Tving original series "Dear X" (directed by Lee Eung-bok and Park So-hyun, written by Choi Ja-won and Ban Ji-woon) on the 13th, ahead of episodes 5-6, released stills of Hwang In-yeop, who joined as a special grants.
Episodes 1-4 of "Dear X," released earlier, portrayed the dark past and dangerous secrets hidden behind top star Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung)'s dazzling success. To free himself from the shackles of being a father toward Baek Sun-gyu (played by Bae Soo-bin), he gambled everything, even staging a deadly gamble that used café owner Choi Jung-ho (played by Kim Ji-hoon) as a sacrifice. And with all truths at risk of being revealed, Baek Ah-jin grabbed the outstretched hand of Seo Mi-ri (played by Kim Ji-young), the CEO of Longstar Entertainment, and decided to debut as an actor, making the next story even more intriguing.
Starting with episode 5, when Baek Ah-jin enters the entertainment industry, new characters begin to intertwine in various relationships. Amid that, attention focuses on the appearance of "Heo In-gang," played by Hwang In-yeop. Heo In-gang (played by Hwang In-yeop) is a former idol turned actor who became a top star by breaking box-office records with every project he appeared in. To all outward appearances he has achieved success, but deep down he lives with a sense of lack and melancholy.
In the photos released that day, his intense and glamorous visuals capture attention while also conveying the loneliness and emptiness behind a life of top-star success, deepening curiosity about him. Also striking is the image of him walking the red carpet with Baek Ah-jin. Although they were perfectly businesslike as senior and junior at the same agency, Heo In-gang faces change through his encounter with Baek Ah-jin.
Hwang In-yeop said, "I have always liked director Lee Eung-bok's work, so I wanted to work with him someday. I was personally honored and happy to join 'Dear X' as the charming character 'Heo In-gang.'" Expectations are high for Hwang In-yeop's passionate performance, which is expected to drive another axis of the drama beyond a special grants. It will be released today (the 13th) at 6 p.m.
