A legal YouTuber and practicing lawyer known as 'Aneun Byeonhosa' drew attention for sharply criticizing the situation before NewJeans members returned.
On the channel 'Aneun Byeonhosa,' which has about 500,000 subscribers, a recent post titled Who's your mother?, NewJeans future prediction (the lawyer who predicted NewJeans would lose the lawsuit appears) was uploaded.
In the video, Aneun Byeonhosa (Lee Ji-hoon) emphasized, "In society, a contract comes before your mother or your father." Min Hee-jin, the former CEO, was called the 'NewJeans mom.'
Aneun Byeonhosa continued, "In the process of growing into an idol group, money was received and based on that money there is a person named Min Hee-jin. There is an investor, and at first you liked the fact that person gave money, but now that things are going well you feel like it's because of your own strength and you think it would have done well even without that person's money… you came to dislike that person, but you can't do that," expressing his view.
He added, "Min Hee-jin was employed with the investor's funds, and there would have been a process of selecting NewJeans and training them as idols, and there are a promotion team and so on… They didn't invest from the start thinking NewJeans would be a huge hit, right? They had money, so they stood on the basis of money. Without that there would be no NewJeans."
He also advised, "You mustn't look for your mother. Your mother won't solve it. People new to society need to know this. The moment you call your mother, you've lost. Write it down if you're new to society. In society, a contract comes before your mother. Then don't sign the contract. Keeping promises is common sense. It's not just verbal."
This video content is receiving intense attention amid news of NewJeans members' return.
Earlier, Haerin and Hye-in expressed their intention to return after consultations with their families and thorough discussions with ADOR, and ADOR's official statement was issued immediately. The agency said, "We welcome the choices of the two members and will actively support their future activities."
However, the remaining three members, Min-ji, Danielle and Hanni, said, "After careful consultation we decided to return. Communication was delayed because one member is staying in Antarctica, and because we did not receive a reply from ADOR we regrettably announce this separately." They expressed their commitment to activities as NewJeans, saying, "We will continue to meet you with music and performances done with sincerity." After the three members' announcement, ADOR showed a firm yet cautious response, saying, "We are verifying the facts," making it likely that formal procedures will proceed through future consultations.
Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin also voiced her position amid the flow of members' returns. Min released a statement on the 13th, saying, "The decision yesterday for the members to return together must have been a choice made after deep reflection and conversation," and "I respect and support that choice. I can start anew anywhere. But I believe that under any circumstances NewJeans should be fully preserved as five members. I hope the members become stronger, that NewJeans becomes better, and above all I hope all five members are happy."
