YouTuber Chimchakman will present a monthly live stream of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
On the 13th, TVING said it had confirmed the monthly live show "Wanna watch together?" for the global hit anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba with Chimchakman.
Previously, the full-episode live broadcast of Demon Slayer season 1 episode 26, which was held on the 18th of last month, recorded about 50% of real-time viewership share among all TVING live channels at the same time, and received an explosive response, with a flood of additional live requests.
Riding that momentum, TVING confirmed monthly live broadcasts including Demon Slayer: Mugen Train arc (episode 10) on the 22nd and season 2: Entertainment District arc (episode 11) on Dec. 13. In particular, the broadcast on the 22nd will feature Chimchakman and his younger brother, creator "Tongdak Cheonsa (Tongcheon)", appearing together to show a lively combo reaction with cheerful chemistry. Fans are expected to actively participate throughout the broadcast via real-time chat "TVING Talk", once again leading an intuitive OTT communication trend.
"Wanna watch Demon Slayer together?" is regarded as the first case of introducing creator long-form continuous streaming to an OTT platform, and it is establishing a new viewing culture in which content and fandom communicate in real time. It is being praised for expanding the OTT viewing experience by drawing participation from both fans of the global hit anime Demon Slayer and the creator Chimchakman fandom.
A TVING official said, "Moving away from VOD-centered OTT viewing behavior, live viewing methods where creators and fans communicate and enjoy together in real time are rapidly increasing," and added, "TVING's interactive service centered on 'Wanna watch together?' is expected to lead domestic OTT viewing trends as a new genre."
TVING's "Wanna watch together?" is the country's first real-time interactive service launched by a domestic OTT this year, and it has driven high satisfaction by enabling active interaction between performers and fans across various content. It has received strong responses through broadcasts such as pro baseball "fandom commentary", TVING original variety show EXchange, The Great Escape, tvN drama Law and The City, and "Cat Food War".
