XG (XG) has announced the birth of their first full-length album featuring a more sophisticated "core."
XG (Joorin, Chisa, Hinata, Habi, Julia, Maiya, Cocona) revealed the official logo for their first full-length album on their official social media on the 6th and announced the release of THE CORE - 核. Among this, messages full of the members' confidence toward the first full-length album, which will be released on Jan. 23 next year, were revealed, raising expectations among global fans.
In an interview with magazine CLASH, member CHISA said, "This album goes beyond the intensity XG has shown so far and contains a more sophisticated and emotional side," and said, "Each song contains intense yet personal stories," expressing confidence in its completeness. The main theme, 核 (core), which is a symbol that encapsulates XG's identity and a declaration to explore the essence of music and existence beyond trends, is expected to be the result of experiments that break genre boundaries and transcend conventions, condensing XG's unique musical language and philosophy.
XG opened the first page of their first full-length album by releasing the pre-release track GALA in Sept. The track GALA, which blends sophisticated synths and a rhythmic house beat, combines a futuristic sound with avant-garde visuals and ranked on the YouTube Trending Charts in 21 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan, immediately after its release, drawing attention from global listeners. The music video also surpassed 18.42 million views (as of Nov. 12), once again proving XG's distinctive worldview and musical presence.
MAIYA said, "'GALA' is a song where intense verses, confident lyrics and futuristic sounds come together perfectly, showing who we are now," expressing affection for the track. Cocona also explained, "'GALA' is a continuation of our journey and a new beginning. It is the starting point of the first full-length album to be released in Jan. next year, and a song that embraces both the past and the future," predicting a narrative expansion from the pre-release track to the first full-length album.
In response to the members' reactions, fans expressed expectations for XG's activities in 2026, saying, "We're ready for the deeper emotions than before," "XG is building the future of pop," and "I can't wait for the next chapter of their music."
Previously, XG, known for powerful visual storytelling and an experimental, bold musical world, was selected as a Sahara stage headliner at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and received explosive reactions. Through their first world tour that began last year, XG 1st WORLD TOUR "The first HOWL," they performed 47 shows in 35 cities across 18 countries, drawing about 400,000 attendees. The tour finale at Tokyo Dome on May 14 sold out 50,000 seats, proving their overwhelming status as a "global group."
Meanwhile, returning with the first full-length album THE CORE - 核, which contains a "journey to the essence," XG will hold their second world tour, XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE, starting in Japan in Feb. next year and connecting Asia, North America, Europe, Australia and Latin America, once again expanding the boundaries of performance.
