The 2026 college scholastic ability test (hereafter CSAT) is being held today (the 13th), and idol stars' choices were divided.
The 2025 CSAT will be held on the 13th from 8:40 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at 85 testing districts and 1,310 testing sites nationwide. The number of test takers increased from the previous year to 554,174.
A representative idol who decided to take this year's CSAT is ZEROBASEONE's Han Yujin. Her agency Wakeone said, "Han Yujin will take this year's CSAT," adding that she has been balancing activities and studies.
Along with Han Yujin, TWS's Kyungmin, KickFlip's Donghyun, ILLIT's Yoo Sarang, The Wind's Park Hayuchan, and If I's Rahee also chose to take the CSAT. However, the majority of idols kept their testing locations private. They asked for understanding, saying they did not disclose the testing sites to avoid disrupting other test takers because of gathering reporters and fans.
Unlike them, IVE's Lee Seo; BABYMONSTER's Ahyeon and Rami; ILLIT's Wonhee; Hearts2Hearts' Yuha and Stella; Miyao's Narin; KATSEYE's Yoonchae; Youngpas's Doeun; ARC's Choi Han and Doha; AtHeart's Arin and Bom; and BBEUP's Suyeon chose not to take the CSAT.
Starship Entertainment, Lee Seo's agency, said, "Lee Seo has ultimately decided not to take this year's CSAT in connection with university admission. There was long discussion about taking the CSAT, but she decided based on her wish to focus on activities."
They are the same age, but their choices differed. Some tried to catch both activities and academics at once, while others chose to focus only on activities and "stick to one well." Unlike in the past, as the entertainment industry has become less obsessed with university prestige, their choices are changing more freely.
