The Walt Disney Company announced an even stronger lineup of new Korean and Japanese releases.
On the 13th, the 2025 Disney+ APAC and global content presentation was held in the Cinderella Ballroom at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Conference Center.
The Walt Disney Company (hereafter Disney) APAC announced today the lineup of Disney+ Korean and Japanese original content that will be released on Disney+, and expressed its commitment to further strengthen collaboration with the region's top creators and actors alongside Disney's creative momentum being presented through the streaming platform.
For the first time held at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, this "Disney+ original preview" event was attended by top stars from Korea, the United States and Japan, who lit up the event, and previews of major works and new original series soon to be released on Disney+ were revealed.
The announcement session at this event also revealed detailed information about Korean original works. First, Made in Korea, starring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung, will be released on Disney+ on Dec. 24, and production of season 2 has been confirmed with a target release in 2026.
In addition, currently streaming on Disney+ is The Manipulated, an action drama starring Ji Chang Wook and Doh Kyung Soo, the groundbreaking variety show Fate War 49 in which destiny practitioners gather and stage a mesmerizing survival, Goldland, an excitingly intertwined crime and action series starring Park Bo Young, Kim Sung Cheol and Lee Hyun Wook, and Killer's Shopping Mall season 2, an action series reuniting Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Joon with new additions Masaki Okada and Hyunri.
The romantic comedy 21st century great lady, pairing singer-songwriter and actor IU with popular star Byeon Wooseok, was confirmed for release on Disney+ in 2026, and preview footage was introduced for Ige Mat Ah?! season 2, featuring BTS members Jimin and Jungkook traveling together, ahead of its Dec. 3 release.
As Disney continues to present stories inspired by the APAC region, works and creators that adapted Korean romance fantasy webtoons into live-action dramas drew attention, including Reborn Rich starring Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jong-seok and Lee Se Young, and Bewitching, starring Suzy and Kim Sun-ho.
At today's announcement session, production news was revealed for the Japanese animation series Death Stranding: Isolation (working title), presented through the company's first collaboration with legendary Japanese game creator Hideo Kojima; a preview of the latter episodes of the globally popular Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation was shown for the first time; the Japan-Korea co-production romantic comedy drama Mary Berry Love (working title), starring Ji Chang Wook and Imada Mio who have been active in Disney+ works; and popular animations such as Tokyo Revengers: Three Thousand War arc (working title), Medalist season 2, One Dance, and Cats Eye: Part 2 were also unveiled. Also announced was the variety documentary series Travis Japan Summer Vacation!! in the USA, which will be released on Disney+ ahead of its summer 2026 debut, and anticipation was raised for a new comedy reality show, Daigo Project (working title), produced by Daigo of the popular Japanese comedy duo Chidori.
Luke Kang, president of Walt Disney Company APAC, said in his opening remarks at the event, "Today's event shows that Disney+ is uncovering new worlds and stories for viewers and that collaboration with the next generation of creators in the APAC region is deepening," adding, "The Disney content team has collaborated with the region's best storytellers inspired by webtoons, comics, novels, games, music and other fields, and aims to deliver the best entertainment in a way only Disney can."
