Actor Im Cheol-soo evoked warmth with a heartwarming adult moment.
In episode 8 of the TVING original drama "Spirit Fingers," released on Oct. 12, Im Cheol-soo quietly portrayed an adult-like Jang Dong-gun.
Dong-gun met Ye-rim (played by Kang Hye-won) in front of a snack shop. Ye-rim complained to the art club members that Black Finger (played by Kim Seul-gi) speaks too bluntly and aired other grievances. At that moment, Dong-gun raised the tension in the scene by immediately saying, "Do you like Ki-jung (played by Jo Jun-young)? Ki-jung isn't interested in you? So you find Woo-yeon a thorn in your side?" Dong-gun had noticed that Ye-rim was jealous of the relationship between Ki-jung and Woo-yeon (played by Park Ji-hoo) and had sown discord.
Dong-gun, who had seen through Ye-rim's inner thoughts, offered adult advice. With a faint smile he delivered a consoling line with bite: "Don't pretend to be an adult already. When you become an adult, there are times you have to get petty because of unavoidable circumstances. Everyone ends up being petty people out of necessity."
Im Cheol-soo captured attention by modestly playing the role of the adult Jang Dong-gun, who carries seriousness beneath a warm smile. Though he seemed to respond playfully, he naturally expressed a delicate reversal by showing a serious side when giving advice as an adult.
The TVING original drama "Spirit Fingers," in which Im Cheol-soo appears, is released every Wednesday at 4 p.m.
