Actor Kim Min-gyu challenges himself with a mystery thriller.
Kim Min-gyu returns to the screen as Jun-gyeong, the protagonist of the film Mangnaein: The Faceless Killers, directed by Shin Jae-ho, which opens on Dec. 17.
Mangnaein: The Faceless Killers is a network mystery thriller centered on cybercrime, adapted from the novel of the same name by mystery novelist Chan Ho-kyei. It follows a client who probes the cold-blooded private detective and the unjust death of his sister as they pursue a killer hiding on the internet, and Kim Min-gyu will portray Jun-gyeong, a genius hacker, showing a new acting transformation.
Jun-gyeong, played by Kim Min-gyu, is a character with outstanding hacking skills and analytical ability who traces the reality of an intricate case and leads the narrative. As a character who combines genius talent with a cool demeanor, Kim Min-gyu is expected to draw high audience immersion with his long-honed delicate acting and emotional expression.
Kim Min-gyu, who debuted in the 2013 tvN drama Monster, proved strong acting skills and character versatility through various works including Signal, Because This Is My First Life, Perfume, The King's Affection, Backstreet Rookie, and Snowdrop.
In particular, he earned the nickname "romance master" for the SBS drama Business Proposal, and won global fans' passionate love by perfectly playing two roles in the tvN drama The Heavenly Idol. Through this film Mangnaein: The Faceless Killers, he is expected to show a different charm with deeper acting.
