Broadcaster Lee Ji-hye succeeded in gold investing.
On the 13th, the YouTube channel Mipji-Anneun Gwanchong Unni uploaded a video titled "Why did Lee Ji-hye take all the gold she collected in her life and her children's dol rings to Jongno? (Lingling unni, gold tech)".
That day Lee Ji-hye visited a gold and silver shop in Jongno, Seoul to have the value of her gold assessed. Lee Ji-hye said, "I brought my entire fortune. Haven't gold prices been crazy lately? Gold prices went crazy against the dollar, and not long ago at Hyun-jo's first birthday party I bought some for the low 700,000 won range, but now gold prices are in the 800,000 won range. It's 860,000 won," she said.
She continued, "I previously received gold on the show 'Challenge Cheongok.' I have a few of those, and I have medals and trophies. I brought them all. I want to pass these down to my children, but I want to discuss whether it's better to exchange them now or later."
Lee Ji-hye laid out the golden key, trophy, jewelry and her children's gold and received consultation. First, the expert said the 10-don golden key Lee Ji-hye received is worth 8 million won at current market prices, and Lee Ji-hye exclaimed, "Back then one don was 70,000 won." But she was disappointed when told the trophy is only gold-colored and some of the jewelry appears to be fake.
The jewelry Lee Ji-hye owned totaled 2.13 don and was worth 945,700 won. Then, when the expert appraised the gold her two daughters received, they surprised those present by saying, "A total of 71,139,400 won."
Lee Ji-hye joked, "Shall I sell my daughter's and buy a car?" and decided, saying, "If I convert it to cash now someone might snatch me up," that she would first exchange only her own 940,000 won.
She added, "I've decided to convert the children's dol rings into gold bars. It's such a large amount now that if you contact me we can add more money or proceed that way. I had such a pleasant experience today, it was great."
