This winter, the most majestic harmony to move the screen arrives. The film "The Divine Orchestra" (director: Kim Hyung-hyeop | distributor: CJ CGV㈜ | production: Studio Target㈜) released its main trailer for the first time at noon on the 12th via CGV's official Instagram, ahead of its December release.
"The Divine Orchestra" is a work that depicts the story that unfolds when a 'fake praise troupe' is created in North Korea to earn foreign currency.
The newly released main trailer opens with the line "It's $200 million." Under the watch of an audit team from the International Christian Federation, which is providing funding from an international NGO, an absurd mission unfolds requiring them to hold a 'fake revival meeting,' instantly capturing the audience's attention.
The massive location scenes across vast snowy plains in Mongolia and Hungary convey the film's overwhelming scale and foreshadow the arduous journey they will face. Under pressure from superiors — "Don't imitate it, make it real" — the tense standoff between Park Gyo-soon (Park Si-hoo), who leads the 'fake orchestra,' and Captain Kim (Jeong Jin-woon), who sharply monitors them saying "There are reactionary elements here," creates an edge-of-your-seat tension.
In the latter part of the trailer, a narration says, "Everything was fake," and the 'fake performances' that began as means of survival gradually become sincerely moving. The performance scene that follows the line "It feels like this constricted chest is opening up" builds to a fiery emotional climax, and the main copy "Their sincerity moved the world" completes the lingering impression.
The film was directed by Kim Hyung-hyeop, who delivered cheerful laughs and warm emotion with the movie "Dad Is Daughter." Even within the ironic setup of a "$200 million fake mission," he does not lose his characteristic humanity and humanism, completing a warm drama in which laughter and tears intersect.
Joining the cast are Park Si-hoo, returning to the screen after 10 years, Jeong Jin-woon, who promises a striking transformation, and Taehangho, Moon Kyung-min, Jang Ji-gun, Seo Dong-won, Choi Seon-ja, and others — a 12-member ensemble whose names alone add credibility — creating an unpredictable harmony.
