'Radio Star' singer and musical actress Ivy shared behind-the-scenes of her debut.
On the 12th episode aired on MBC's variety show 'Radio Star,' Ivy appeared. Now established as a musical actress, Ivy once enjoyed tremendous popularity as a powerful new female dance solo singer following Uhm Jung-hwa, Kim Wan-sun, and Baek Ji-young. In particular, the hit song "Sonata of Temptation" reportedly had his provocative choreography added.
However, Ivy originally prepared to be a ballad singer. Ivy said, "Our company had Lee Soo-young and Liz. For the first album, JYP's Park Jin-Young was producing, so I had to sing half air, half sound. Because I had actually trained as a ballad singer, I wanted to receive ballad songs. But Park Jin-Young recommended dance training. After practicing for a month, Park Jin-Young told me to be a dance singer and gave me the name Ivy," she said. She added, "He is like a father to me."
Ivy said, "Park Jin-Young gave opinions on the debut stage outfits, brought all the dancers from the U.S., and the music video was shot on location in Los Angeles. I was JYP's major new artist," and showed a changed vocal style as a musical actress, prompting admiration.
