MAA, the agency that represents actor Go Youn-jung and Hong Soo-ju, has warned it will take a hard line against malicious slander and the spread of false information targeting its actors.
MAA said in an official statement on the 11th, "We have confirmed malicious slander and the spread of false information targeting our actors recently," and "we immediately proceeded with criminal complaint procedures through our legal representatives, and an investigation is currently underway."
It added, "We will, in principle, respond firmly and legally to any actions that infringe on our actors' honor and rights, without any settlement or leniency," and warned, "Speculative posts that differ from the facts and distorted posts cause secondary damage and seriously damage reputation," adding, "We are continuously monitoring and will carry out strong legal measures concurrently."
Finally, MAA said, "We thank the fans for the interest and support you give to our actors."
Meanwhile, MAA is known to have completed evidence collection regarding unverified malicious posts spreading mainly on online communities and social media, and is reviewing additional legal measures.
