Actor Kim Su-hyun's lawyer again said that allegations that Kim Su-hyun dated the late Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor are not true.
Kim Su-hyun's legal representative, attorney Ko Sang-rok, posted a lengthy statement on YouTube on the 12th titled "Progress on actor Kim Su-hyun's case and position on claims by bereaved family representative attorney Bu Ji-seok."
In the post, Ko said the claim by bereaved family representative attorney Bu Ji-seok was relayed through a broadcaster, noting, "Thousands of photos (of Kim Su-hyun and Kim Sae-ron) do not exist. It is only natural they cannot exist. Attorney Bu had ample time to press Kim Se-eui, asking, 'Why did you say that?'."
Ko also said, "Regarding the ski resort photos and other images that Gaseyeon claimed were taken when she was a minor, attorney Bu said, 'I never told Gaseyeon that those photos were of the deceased as a minor,' but attorney Bu silently watched as such claims were made in abundance (by Gaseyeon) after Mar. 10 and played the above audio files together at the May 7 press conference."
Ko said, "As for the photo of the deceased and Kim Su-hyun touching faces taken in late Feb. 2020, attorney Bu said, 'It was a photo made public before I was retained as counsel, so I have nothing to say,' which clearly seems to acknowledge it was taken in late Feb. 2020," adding, "The bereaved family said they believed a photo taken when the deceased became a college sophomore was from the first year of high school, but as I have said repeatedly, that is difficult to accept as a matter of common sense."
Ko added, "There are no additional letters besides the publicly released military letter," and explained, "At that time, internet letters were a method for people outside to send to soldiers, not for soldiers to send to the outside." Ko continued, "Actor Kim Su-hyun never sent a personal email to the deceased while serving in the military, so claims such as an aunt opening the deceased's email and 'confirming personal messages' cannot stand."
Meanwhile, Kim Su-hyun and the bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron have been locked in a dispute over the truth of alleged dating during her minor years since March. The bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron claimed through Gaseyeon starting in March that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with Kim Su-hyun for six years from 2016, when she was 15, but Kim Su-hyun's side countered that they dated from the summer of 2019, after the deceased became an adult, until the fall of 2020. As suspicions persisted, Kim Su-hyun personally held a press conference on Mar. 31 to again deny the allegation of dating during her minor years. The two sides then began legal action and have continued the battle to this day.
