Group SEVENTEEN member Hoshi is once again surprise-releasing a new song.
According to HYBE Music Group label PLEDIS Entertainment Co., Hoshi will release the digital single and music video for the new song "Fallen Superstar" at 6 p.m. on the 11th. It is a solo song released about two months after "TAKE A SHOT," which he released last September.
"Fallen Superstar" is a song about two wounded people finding warmth by being together in their respective deficits. Against a backdrop where fast-tempo drums and lyrical guitar sounds contrast, Hoshi's delicate vocals are added to create music like a passionate lyric poem.
Songwriting and composition involved Andrew Goldstein, a composer who has worked with global artists such as Maroon 5 and Katy Perry, and singer-songwriter JXDN, who was once nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards, one of the four major U.S. music awards. Hoshi is attempting an English solo song for the first time since his debut, and is expected to broaden empathy with global fans.
The music video presents the subtle emotional line of "Fallen Superstar," where fall and love coexist, with sophisticated and sensuous visuals. The teaser released at midnight that day portrayed a shattered guitar and Hoshi falling in reverse playback. A guitar pick engraved with the phrase "You're just a Fallen Superstar," followed by a portion of the new song, raised expectations for the track and music video.
Meanwhile, Hoshi has expanded his musical spectrum by showcasing various solo songs as well as group and unit albums, including "Damage (HOSHI Solo) (feat. Timbaland)," "I Want You Back," and "STAY." His previously surprise-released solo song "TAKE A SHOT" was widely loved, entering high ranks on the "iTunes worldwide song" chart.
