Former Nogizaka46 member Nojo Ami and kabuki actor Nakamura Hashinosuke of Japan announced their marriage.
Nojo Ami and Nakamura Hashinosuke held a press conference at a hotel in Tokyo on the 10th to announce their marriage. Afterwards, Nojo Ami also informed fans of the marriage on her social media.
In a statement, Nojo Ami and Nakamura Hashinosuke said "We apologize for the personal matter, but we are getting married this time. After co-starring on stage, we were drawn to each other and spent four and a half years together. We want to walk the rest of our lives together."
They added, "With the desire to cherish this person for life, we are now sure that we can share many things from now on and become a couple who support each other."
They also said, "As a married couple we will join forces to redouble our efforts in our work and strive to advance for Narikomaya (the family name). We ask for your continued guidance and support."
Nojo Ami and Nakamura Hashinosuke drew attention in 2021 when reports emerged that they were dating. At the time, Nakamura Hashinosuke was reportedly in a serious relationship with a geisha in Kyoto with marriage as the premise, raising suspicions of dating multiple people. The two met while playing opposing roles in a musical and became engaged during a trip to Hawaii last July. The wedding is scheduled for early next summer.
Nakamura Hashinosuke became part of a lineage of idol and kabuki actor couples. Nakamura Hashinosuke is the successor of the prestigious kabuki family Narikomiy a, and his father Nakamura Shikando married Mita Hiroko, who was active as an idol in the 1980s.
