"No cure for breast cancer"… Park Mi-sun previews tearful first confession "The treatment to survive was so hard"
Comedian Park Mi-sun appears on television for the first time since battling breast cancer, receiving public support for her courageous return and tearful confession.
On the 12th episode of tvN "You Quiz on the Block," Park Mi-sun returns after a long hiatus.
In a previously released preview, she appears with short hair and, smiling brightly, says, "There are too many fake news stories, and I'm here to report that I'm alive." That smile contained the long period of illness and the resilience she had endured.
Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer earlier this year and halted all broadcasting activities to focus on treatment. In the pre-release video she appeared with a bright face, saying, "I think many people will be surprised to see this. Actually, I came out bravely," but soon in a calm voice said, "Breast cancer is a disease for which you can't use the word 'complete recovery.'"
She went on to confess for the first time about the difficult treatment process, saying, "I was hospitalized with pneumonia and received antibiotics and IV fluids for two weeks. My face swelled and it was very hard. The treatment was to stay alive, and I really felt like I was going to die." Even so, Park Mi-sun did not lose her characteristic positive attitude. She added, "I was grateful even for being sick in winter, and grateful that I could receive treatment in a cool hospital room in the middle of summer. While I was sick, I realized I was receiving a lot of love," showing a positive side.
Yoo Jae-seok, who has been with her for a long time, warmly welcomed her, saying, "I really missed you. Our healthy partner sister is back," and Park Mi-sun, with reddened eyes, replied, "Only now do I realize I'm receiving so much love."
Park Mi-sun stopped broadcasting in January due to health issues, and later the breast cancer diagnosis became known, causing concern among fans. Her husband Lee Bong-won said, "She is receiving good treatment. She is taking time to recharge," and actress Sunwoo Yong-yeo also said, "Her complexion has improved. She has mostly recovered," adding relief. Her sincere return is expected to deliver a message of hope and courage to many viewers.
Park Mi-sun's tearful confession and warm support will be revealed on the 12th at 8:45 p.m. on tvN "You Quiz on the Block".
