1990s youth icon Lee Bon (53) expressed her feelings about returning to radio after 21 years alongside a photoshoot that revealed an exceptional visual.
Returning as the DJ of KBS Radio "Lee Bon's La La Land" after 21 years, she told bnt, "There was a long hiatus, but once I sat in the studio I felt comfortable as if I had been broadcasting until a few days ago," sharing her special sentiments. Despite the long-awaited return, her characteristic bright and relaxed energy remained the same.
Lee Bon cited sincere communication with listeners as radio's biggest charm and expressed affection, "The appeal of radio is exchanging stories, worries and happy daily moments in real time." She explained the changed listening environment, saying, "The previous 'Turn Up the Volume' mainly had middle and high school students and college students as the main listeners, but now the listener age range has widened from teenagers to seniors."
Recalling the popular radio show 'Lee Bon's Turn Up the Volume,' which featured the era's top stars, she mentioned guests who remain unforgettable to this day, including Seo Taiji and Boys, Deux, the late Kim Sung-jae, and the late Seo Ji-won.
She went on to name guests she would like to invite to the current 'La La Land,' mentioning long-time collaborators Kim Gun-mo, Shin Seung-hoon and members of Cool, raising expectations about whether a reunion of 1990s stars might take place.
Lee Bon, who is also known for consistent self-care, laughed, "Since I was young I hardly ate after 6 p.m. I disliked my face swelling, and later I found out this was 'intermittent fasting'." She added, "Even now I spend more than an hour every day investing in my body. I exercise steadily and I don't drink at all. Thanks to that I was able to broadcast with good health and a clear mind."
When asked about her future plans, Lee Bon said, "I don't have any particular plans. If I live today diligently, something good will surely come tomorrow," adding, "My goal is to live happily for today." She candidly said, "However, I want to properly immerse myself in acting again." Lee Bon expressed regret that juggling many things kept her from concentrating on one thing and revealed her acting ambitions, saying, "If given the opportunity, I'd like to play a strong character like a villain in a crime drama," heightening expectations for her future moves.
In the accompanying released photos, Lee Bon once again asserted her presence with a unique concept and tasteful styling. In the published photos, she perfectly carried everything from classic dresses to experimental silhouettes that created the illusion of shocking exposure, exuding her characteristic charisma.
