'The Return of SUPERMAN' fall revamp recruit Lee Yi-kyung suddenly will not appear. In his place, Kim Jong-min will record together with Lalal, who had already been scheduled to join.
On the afternoon of the 11th, OSEN reported that KOYOTE's Kim Jong-min will participate in recording as the new MC of KBS 2TV variety program 'The Return of SUPERMAN' on the 19th. The recorded episode will be edited and broadcast on the 26th of the same month.
Earlier, the 'The Return of SUPERMAN' side selected Lee Yi-kyung and Lalal as new MCs for the fall revamp. Expectations had been building for the chemistry between Lee Yi-kyung, the program's first unmarried MC, and Lalal, who holds his daughter, but suddenly personal life controversies surrounding Lee Yi-kyung emerged, leaving the 'The Return of SUPERMAN' side also unable to hide their embarrassment.
Regarding the personal life allegations, Lee Yi-kyung's agency Sangyoung ENT issued an official statement saying, "We deeply regret the false information and defamation related to our actor Lee Yi-kyung that recently spread online," and stated that the circulated photos and message screenshots are all groundless.
In particular, the agency said, "Through legal representatives, we have submitted damage materials to and filed a complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against the authors and distributors of the related posts on charges of spreading false information and defamation. We clearly state that there were no attempts at settlement or compensation discussions regarding this matter, and we will not proceed in any form in the future," and warned, "We will continuously monitor acts such as malicious postings that damage the personality and honor of our actor and will pursue legal action without leniency."
Separately, due to scheduling issues, Lee Yi-kyung withdrew from Hangout With Yoo, and his planned joining of 'The Return of SUPERMAN' also fell through. However, the 'The Return of SUPERMAN' side did not disclose specific reasons for the failed participation.
The 'The Return of SUPERMAN' side announced the addition of Kim Jong-min and Lalal and introduced, "Kim Jong-min has been married for six months and drew attention by revealing that he is practicing quitting smoking and drinking to plan for a second child. Kim Jong-min is joining the 'The Return of SUPERMAN' MC lineup with the mindset of eagerly picking up parenting know-how from veteran parents, and he plans to show his passion for studying childcare."
