Comedian Park Mi-sun revealed for the first time the latest on her battle with breast cancer.
On the 10th, tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" released a pre-release video titled "My long-missed partner sister, Park Mi-sun! A courageous visit to You Quiz delivering her battle story and a surprise letter for her."
In the video, Yoo Jae-seok introduced her, saying, "I really missed you. Our partner sister, Park Mi-sun, back in healthy form." Appearing with short hair, Park Mi-sun said, "I think many people will be surprised to see this. I came out with a very shocking look. Actually, I came out bravely."
Yoo Jae-seok said, "When you were diagnosed with breast cancer, you probably didn't feel it was real." Park Mi-sun said, "I didn't feel it was real. My stamina still hasn't fully recovered," adding, "This is a breast cancer for which I cannot use the word 'complete recovery.' I was hospitalized with pneumonia and for two weeks they threw antibiotics and everything at me. It was because they didn't know the cause. So my face became swollen. It was treatment to try to live, but I felt like I was almost going to die."
She went on to show her characteristic positivity, saying, "I'm grateful that I was sick in the winter, and I'm grateful that I received treatment in a cool place in midsummer. Having this mindset made the treatment very enjoyable the whole time."
Park Mi-sun said, "So many people worried and cared for me. Only when I got sick did I realize that I really receive a lot of love," and she teared up after watching surprise video messages from acquaintances.
Park Mi-sun halted all activities in January due to health issues. It was later reported that Park Mi-sun had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, and her agency CUBE Entertainment declined to comment, calling it personal medical information.
Meanwhile, Park Mi-sun's battle with breast cancer will be revealed on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," which airs at 8:45 p.m. on the 12th.
