Today (10th) at 8:10 p.m. Channel A 'Best friends to-kyumentary – four-person table' will air the episode featuring 'sold-out man' Yeom Gyeong-hwan, who conquered the home shopping industry.
On the day, Yeom Gyeong-hwan invites culinary researcher Lee Hye-jung and comedian Kim Ji-hye. The three legends of home shopping, who specialize in different sales fields and support each other, drew laughs when MC Park Kyung-rim immediately put food into her mouth and they playfully advised that on home shopping you have to show and eat the food thoroughly.
Yeom Gyeong-hwan, who debuted in 1993 as a second-generation comedian in SBS's open recruitment following high school classmate Kim Gu-ra, challenged a business in 2004 to import and sell coconut oil for the first time in the country but failed and incurred a debt of 800 million won. So he began appearing on home shopping to pay off that debt. He then revealed an embarrassing anecdote experienced during a live home shopping broadcast, and when he recounted calmly grinding and drinking a large fly that had gotten into a beverage, his best friends shared their own unexpected situations during live broadcasts, leading to a sympathetic talk.
Yeom Gyeong-hwan, who handles about 100 broadcasts a month, said he has no manager who can handle his schedule, so he became a self-proclaimed human navigation and manages his schedule alone. He also said he alternates driving two vehicles in case one breaks down, and that he doesn't go home five days a week and sleeps near the home shopping company. As if to prove his popularity, even during the recording, home shopping booking calls kept coming in nonstop, drawing the envy of his best friends.
To the question 'Isn't it hard?' he confessed, "There were times in the past that were harder than this, so I think my inner strength has built up," and he revealed that when he had no broadcasting work, he and his wife spent a year driving a small van and selling ties, socks and belts in Yeouido, saying, "I wouldn't have done it alone, but once I had a family it wasn't embarrassing," showing a special sense of responsibility as the head of the household. He also expressed gratitude to his wife, who quietly stood by him during difficult times.
Kim Ji-hye, who celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with her husband Park Jun-hyung, revealed that after she earned more than 10 times her husband's income through home shopping, Park Jun-hyung suddenly started taking over the dishwashing.
She went on to say that she worked hard because of Park Jun-hyung's gaslighting comment, "If you don't make money, someone else will anyway," which made her best friends laugh. She continued the revelations, saying, 'When my husband buys meals for juniors he uses my card,' calling it part of her husband's big plan and turning the set into a sea of laughter.
