Singer Chuu (CHUU) raised expectations with a surprise spoiler.
On the 10th, a video titled "1-minute crash course by Chuu teacher summarizing entertainment industry activities in 30 minutes" was released on the YouTube channel "JikyeoChuu."
In the video, Chuu said she held an explanatory session to introduce herself to new subscribers as the "JikyeoChuu" subscriber count grew. First, Chuu said, "There are still people who don't know I was born in Cheongju. I'm from Cheongju," correcting the misunderstanding that she was "Daejeon's daughter." Chuu described herself as "Cheongjiu (Cheongju Jiwoo)" and introduced herself as "a cute young person who was born and raised in Cheongju and dreamed of becoming a singer accompanied by the sounds of toads."
Chuu's dream of becoming a singer came thanks to a friend she met in the third year of middle school. Chuu recalled, "At that time, my friend said there was a performing arts high school featured in 'Dream High,'" and confessed that she didn't even know such high schools existed then. After a tie in a karaoke contest with her friend, Chuu decided to follow her friend and apply to Hanlim Arts High School. With about a week left until the application deadline, it was a tight situation, so Chuu persuaded her parents, and after many twists and turns she arrived at the exam site and was able to take the exam safely.
Thinking she had failed but having confidently passed, Chuu became a student at Hanlim Arts High School and gained fame on social media, she explained. Chuu also said she briefly experienced being under a talent agency in her second year of high school, but when she became a third-year student she thought, "They're so pretty and cute and dance well. I couldn't even dance. I gave up then," and she put her dream aside briefly to take the college entrance exam.
On the day of the college entrance exam, an offer came via DM, allowing Chuu to continue her dream. Chuu, who said she took an audition without taking the exam, recalled, "I hit notes that never usually come out." When she received cold evaluations, Chuu said, "I was scratched. I said, 'I'm good at that song. Please let me try it once more,'" and boldly confronted them, ultimately passing and debuting as a member of the group LOONA.
After debuting and appearing on Hangout With Yoo, Chuu gained public recognition, but controversy over forced energy, or "eok-ten (forced tension)," followed her bright energy. Chuu explained, "If I hadn't wanted to work hard, I couldn't have forced it. I wanted to do so well, and that's why the (tension) came out." Regarding live singing controversies, she said, "I was really scratched by comments that I can't sing," and explained that she was able to overcome it through live performances while communicating with fans and by appearing on Masked Singer.
Now starting anew as a solo artist at her agency ATRP, Chuu is building her own musical world. About her next album, Chuu said, "I'm preparing something," leaving a small hint and raising expectations. She also expressed a desire to challenge new genres as an actor, announcing her activities as an "all-rounder."
Finally, Chuu conveyed a cheerful goal, saying, "I want to leave vlogs about moving into a silver town," and added, "As singer Kim Jiwoo, I think I would cry if I wore a dress and sang at a major awards ceremony."
