Comedian Park Mi-sun appeared on television for the first time since battling breast cancer and candidly revealed the previously unknown pain and recovery process of her illness.
In a preview clip of tvN "You Quiz on the Block" released on the 10th, Park Mi-sun appeared with her hair cut short
Appearing after a long absence, she greeted viewers with a bright smile, saying, "There are so many fake news items that I came out to report I'm alive." But behind that smile were the exhausting times still clearly reflected.
Park Mi-sun confessed, "I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and stopped all activities," adding, "I'm still not completely recovered, and I was told it's a cancer for which you can't use the word 'complete recovery.'" She continued, "Actually, I was hospitalized for pneumonia before the cancer. For two weeks they really threw everything at me — antibiotics, IV fluids. My face swelled because they didn't know the cause and it was so hard," recalling the situation as she choked up.
She described the painful treatment process, saying, "It's a treatment to survive, but I actually felt like I was going to die," and added, "Still, I'm grateful that I can stand again like this."
Co-star Yoo Jae-suk said, "I really missed you. Our buddy sister who returned healthy, Park Mi-sun," offering a warm hug in support, and the scene was filled with a poignant emotion.
Viewers sent messages of support for Park Mi-sun's heartfelt confession, saying, "Every word resonates," "How hard it must have been behind that brightness," and "A truly courageous return."
Meanwhile, Park Mi-sun was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer earlier this year and has focused on treatment, and through this broadcast announced her comeback after the hiatus.
