Singer and actress Son Dam-bi shared an update on her daughter Hae‑i's cranial correction.
On the 9th, Son Dam-bi uploaded a photo to her social account saying, "Lately Hae‑i has been in a bad mood from wearing a helmet."
The released photo showed Son Dam-bi's daughter Hae‑i spending playtime while wearing a helmet. She seems unhappy because she has to wear an uncomfortable helmet. Even so, Son Dam-bi expressed her affection, saying, "Even with the helmet, she's cute♥."
The helmet Hae‑i is wearing is a cranial correction helmet. Cranial correction helmets are generally used to treat asymmetrical skull shapes such as plagiocephaly (a condition in which the skull is flattened on one side) that occur in newborns or infants.
Plagiocephaly can sometimes improve naturally, but in severe cases it is known to potentially cause facial asymmetry. Therefore, helmets are worn for a certain period to guide the infant's skull to grow into a normal shape. Son Dam-bi also appears to have begun treatment to correct Hae‑i's asymmetrical skull.
Meanwhile, Son Dam-bi married speed skater Lee Kyu‑hyuk in 2022 and welcomed daughter Hae‑i in April of this year.
