ITZY, one day before new album release, shared their comeback mindset.
ITZY will present their new mini album "TUNNEL VISION" and the title track of the same name on Nov. 10. Since their official debut on Feb. 12, 2019, they have shown stages with solid skills and won love from global fans; they release a new album about five months after the June album "Girls Will Be Girls".
At the official fan meeting in September, "ITZY The 4th Fan Meeting 있지 믿지, 날자! "ON AIR"" where they directly announced the news of their contract renewal, the members shared their thoughts about this comeback through JYP Entertainment. Leader Yezhi said, "As this is a new beginning, we want to show many people various sides of us. We talked a lot about how we hope to show our strong ties on stage through the teamwork we've built, whether short or long. We worked hard preparing, so we'd appreciate it if you view it kindly," expressing her ambition, while Lia said, "It feels like we're closer and more affectionate. We all pledged, 'Let's do well with this album!'" with a confident resolve.
Ryujin said, "Thanks to the fans who always send warm support, and as we promised our future time together, I prepared this album thinking we must meet the expectations," showing her love for fans, and Chaeryeong pledged, "To MIDZY (fandom name: 믿지), who love us consistently, we wanted to show 'we are always like this.' As time has passed, we'll show a more grown-up side,". Yuna said, "I prepared my best so we can show a firmer and more grown-up side. Please give us lots of interest and love."
The title track "TUNNEL VISION" is a dance song with a hip-hop based beat and brass sound that add weight, and layered vocal sounds maximize immersion. Between sensory overheating and blocking, it embeds an autonomous message of pursuing light at one's own pace within chosen immersion. In the brief sections of the previously released music video teaser, ITZY showed synchronized performance and foreshadowed the return of the "K-pop representative performance queens." Famous K-pop dance teams such as Rachika and Kirstin participated in the new song's choreography, creating synergy. Yezhi, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna are expected to showcase captivating visuals, dazzling performance skills and stage-commanding presence.
The new release, which places "immersion" as its main keyword, contains six tracks starting with track 1 "Focus," the title track "TUNNEL VISION," "DYT," "Flicker," "Nocturne," and "8-BIT HEART." From hip-hop and industrial to dance, UK garage, R&B and electro hyperpop, it creates a dramatic musical flow through an organic narrative structure of finding one's light and identity across rich musical genres. American composer-producer Dem Jointz, who collaborated with internationally famous artists such as Eminem and Rihanna, and leading K-pop producer KENZIE, among other renowned writers, added their touches to raise the completeness.
At 6 p.m. on Nov. 10, ITZY will present the new album and the title track of the same name, "TUNNEL VISION," with a narrative deepened like autumn and a determined heart. It is a reason to look forward to the five members' comeback that will awaken the senses.
