After suffering heavy bleeding and being treated in the intensive care unit after giving birth, Im Lala burst into tears after reuniting with her children.
On the 9th, a video titled "Why am I not recovering?.. The hellish postpartum aftereffects that came from the postpartum care center" was uploaded to the "Enjoy Couple" channel.
The video showed Im Lala entering the postpartum care center after giving birth to twin siblings and Son Minsu caring for her with utmost devotion. Toward the end, a preview of footage capturing the postpartum bleeding incident that worried many people recently was shown, drawing attention.
In the released preview, Im Lala recounted the dizzying moment, saying, "I never want to be there again. All I could do was stare at the ceiling and pray."
She also greeted the sleeping Raki and Ttuki, saying, "Did you sleep well, babies?" and ultimately broke down, saying, "I was so worried I'd never see you again," drawing sympathy.
Earlier, Im Lala married comedian colleague Son Minsu in 2023 and gave birth to twin siblings Raki and Ttuki (birth names) on the 14th of last month. Suffering from pregnancy-related pruritus that covered her body, she had visited the emergency room before delivery and experienced severe bleeding during childbirth.
Nine days after the birth, Son Minsu posted on social media that "Lala suddenly had heavy bleeding and came to the emergency room and was admitted to the intensive care unit. She must be scared to be alone, but I can't be by her side; there is nothing I can do. Please pray that Lala recovers healthily," reporting the emergency situation.
Amid widespread concern and support, Im Lala safely recovered and later posted a short update titled "Thank you to everyone who worried about me." Im Lala recalled, "It was postpartum bleeding. Fortunately I received a transfusion and am recovering, but it was so terrifying at the time," adding, "I rode in an ambulance and visited nearby large hospitals but none would accept me. I ultimately returned to the hospital where I gave birth. I think I fainted about ten times on the way. I thought, 'I might die like this.'"
Son Minsu also admitted, "It was a 30- to 40-minute drive from Gangnam to the delivery hospital, but every nearby emergency room refused. Even though we said, 'The bleeding is severe, we need to get there quickly,' only the hospital where she delivered accepted her," and Im Lala appealed, "I've seen news about mothers dying after being turned away by ambulances and hospitals, and it didn't feel like someone else's story. People talk a lot about low birth rates, but what meaning does that have if a mother's life is so precarious?" Son Minsu earnestly asked, "We were fortunate to recover, but I hope this doesn't happen again."
