Musical actor Kim Jun-young, who faced allegations of entering entertainment establishments, bowed his head as he posted a handwritten letter of apology.
On the 7th, Kim Jun-young posted a handwritten apology on his personal social media, saying, "I apologize for causing disappointment and hurt to many people because of my past personal matters. Regardless of whether any laws were broken, I acted inappropriately because of my lack of awareness. This is my fault, for which no excuse can be made, and all responsibility lies with me."
Kim Jun-young said, "My relationship with my agency has ended and I have withdrawn from all productions I was doing. But I know well that that alone cannot erase the hurt and disappointment I caused. I think this is not the end but the beginning of responsibility, and I will live humbly and reflect on myself for the rest of my life," he promised.
He added, "I also deeply apologize for the delay in apologizing," and said, "Out of fear and shame and hesitation that I might cause further harm and disappointment, I revised the letter several times, which delayed the timing. That too is my shortcoming and my fault. I am sorry once again."
Recently, an online community revealed that Kim Jun-young deleted a photo of a receipt he had posted on social media after visiting a restaurant. Some netizens raised suspicions that he had visited an illegal entertainment establishment based on the woman's (presumed) name and the amounts listed on the receipt.
Regarding this, agency HJ Culture denied the allegations, saying, "We clarify that the actor (Kim Jun-young) did not commit any illegal acts in relation to the allegations being raised online."
Despite the agency's statement, the entry allegations did not subside, and the controversy grew as not only Kim Jun-young but also the agency faced boycotts. Eventually HJ Culture announced again, "Kim Jun-young will withdraw from the musical 'Rachmaninoff' and the play 'Amadeus' in which he was appearing. Careful consultations with producers and related parties were necessary. We apologize for the initial inadequate notice and statement."
The agency also announced the termination of Kim Jun-young's exclusive contract, saying, "The exclusive contract with Kim Jun-young ended at the same time as the decision for him to withdraw from the productions. We deeply apologize for causing concern to many people," and bowed its head.
