"Mother of two" Son Tae-young offered practical advice to a junior and acquaintance who is about to give birth.
On the afternoon of the 8th, a video titled "World-class Korean Yiruma's brother-in-law whom Son Tae-young met finally comes to the U.S." was uploaded to the 'Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young' channel.
Son Tae-young gave necessary childcare items as gifts to a friend who is about to give birth, and said, "You must always cover the baby's head well. Otherwise, when it's cold the baby hiccups. If the baby hiccups you need to do something to the head. Cover with a gauze towel or when bathing—babies hiccup in winter. That means the babies are cold in winter," she said.
The junior said, "But the equipment sold in the U.S. is really ugly. I really don't want to buy it," and Son Tae-young said, "There are a lot of really pretty things in Korea. They call it 'item power,' and these days there are even dolls that spank babies' bottoms," expressing surprise.
At that time the junior asked, "When you raised your child, did you put them to sleep in a crib?" and Son Tae-young replied, "Yes, I did. Even if I lay beside them, I still separated the child's bed," adding, "You can buy a small baby bed. Buy a small cheap one, and if you don't plan to have a second child, use it then and that's it. Anyway at home only I look after them," saying there's no need to buy an expensive one.
When told, "These days people buy very expensive strollers," Son Tae-young said, "Oh, absolutely unnecessary," and added, "Stokke was hugely trendy in our time, everyone bought Stokke and I inherited one from my older sister who had a second child. But it's heavy. In the end mothers switch to ones that fold with a click," she said.
The Norwegian brand Stokke, famous for high-end strollers, was once very popular among mothers and was even called "the Mercedes of strollers" as its price per unit surpassed 2 million won.
The junior said, "I also received a somewhat expensive stroller as a gift this time," and Son Tae-young said, "Then just use it. For going to the park, for walks, when going with dad," adding, "Mothers truly need something that folds with one click. Buy something like that. Stokke is just elegant (laughs). Lightweight is best," offering practical advice.
