'I Live Alone' Kian84 provoked Ok Ja-yeon, predicting a cooking showdown.
On the 7th broadcast of MBC variety show 'I Live Alone' (hereafter 'I Live Alone'), Ok Ja-yeon was shown embarking on "walking backpacking".
That day, welcoming autumn, Ok Ja-yeon, who set out alone for backpacking, went to a recreational forest to camp. After scouting a place to pitch her tent, she completed a one-person tent in an instant. Seeing this, Jun Hyun-moo said, "She really sets it up quickly. That makes you want to go out," and Park Na-rae also marveled, "She really does it well."
Preparing lunch in earnest, Ok Ja-yeon put water with red beans into a container and boiled it, arousing curiosity. She said, "My lunch romance is red bean knife-cut noodles," and added, "When you camp, you want to try various new menu items," saying she even kneads the noodles herself.
Jun Hyun-moo said, "You roll out noodles there? Did you open a shop there?" and Leejung exclaimed, "Is that even possible?" in astonishment.
Earlier, Ok Ja-yeon had shown her cooking skills by making acorn jelly at home. She said, "I plan to make my own red bean knife-cut noodles with whole wheat flour," and the Rainbow members said, "She pioneered a local food genre. It felt artisan-like."
Ok Ja-yeon put whole wheat flour into a silicone zipper bag and began kneading. As if watching a food travel program, she used a water bottle as a rolling pin to roll the dough into noodles. About this she commented, "It felt good. I dried them well and tapped them, and they sliced well and the noodles looked like they would come out well; I felt huge anticipation, and it was fun and slightly strange doing that in nature," adding, "It felt like playing house."
After making whole wheat noodles, Ok Ja-yeon shaved a tree branch with a carving knife she had prepared in advance to make handmade chopsticks. Jun Hyun-moo reacted, "Zepeto grandpa," drawing laughter.
Just when things seemed to be going smoothly, Ok Ja-yeon was flustered when the whole wheat noodles broke. Ki said, "That should have been kneaded more. Actually," expressing regret.
Even though it was a dish completed over three hours, Ok Ja-yeon bitterly revealed of the handmade red bean knife-cut noodles, "I can't say it's tasty." In the studio she added, "Because when making whole wheat noodles I should have added salt. They completely stand out separately and have no flavor."
Then Kian84 delivered a blunt comment about Ok Ja-yeon's food, saying, "Natural-nim's food doesn't really whet the appetite." Offended, Ok Ja-yeon retorted, "What are you saying?" but Kian84 provoked, "I think I cook better. I can cook a bit."
Ok Ja-yeon said, "No. It's because it's my first time making noodles," and Jun Hyun-moo chimed in, "If you heard that from Kian, you really should reflect on it."
Especially, Jun Hyun-moo said, "She gets very hot-tempered. I've never seen her get so worked up like this," and suggested, "Next time have a cooking showdown. Let's do a blind taste test. Just taste it," attracting attention. In response, Ok Ja-yeon glared at Kian84 and vowed, "I'll show you a lesson."
