'My manager is too prickly – The secretaries' sparked laughter from the start when Lee Seo-jin caused a tardiness controversy while acting as a manager.
On the 7th episode of SBS entertainment show 'My manager is too prickly – The secretaries', Cho Jung-seok made a cutting remark to Lee Seo-jin.
When the production team announced, "Lee Seo-jin is running late," Kim Kwang-kyu immediately snapped, "Is it okay for a manager to be late?" Earlier footage of Lee Seo-jin berating someone as "unable to get it together" when he was late played, revealing the reality of the 'double-standard manager.'
A short time later, Lee Seo-jin finally appeared. As if expecting scolding, he kicked the car door shut the moment it opened to cut off nagging, and Kim Kwang-kyu complained, "What time is it that you're coming now?" but in the end, with one smile from Lee Seo-jin, it ended in a 'cutting water with a knife fight.'
But the real problem came next. The two who were assigned to the schedules for Ji Chang-wook and Do Kyung-soo had to pick up Do Kyung-soo at the shop but were 15 minutes late. Waiting Do Kyung-soo shot a pointed remark, "This kind of thing is problematic. I don't like people who don't keep time," and then joked, "I should ask whether Kwang-gyu hyung is the one driving or what he's doing," drawing laughter.
To calm the situation, Lee Seo-jin called the production team himself, saying, "I was late because of traffic," but when the promotions team said, "We've waited too long. Come up as soon as you arrive," he couldn't hide his anxious expression. Seeing this, Ji Chang-wook said, "That's not nervousness, that's 'anger'," delivering a fact-packed blow that set the scene off in laughter again.
In the end, Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-kyu arrived at the set in a flurry. But the location turned out to be a filming site where actor Cho Jung-seok was appearing as YouTuber 'Jo Jeom-seok.'
Seeing Lee Seo-jin, Cho Jung-seok fired a pointed line, "I've heard that keeping to schedules is an industry basic, but the managers don't seem to keep their appointments well?" Flustered, Lee Seo-jin shifted responsibility to Kim Kwang-kyu, saying, "Our road manager is a poor driver," and even ordered, "Apologize!"
Then Kim Kwang-kyu revealed, "Sorry. Actually, it wasn't me but Lee Seo-jin who was more than 20 minutes late," and a 'blame each other war' between the two unfolded. Lee Seo-jin ultimately grabbed Kim Kwang-kyu by the collar to settle the situation(?), and Cho Jung-seok couldn't hold back his laughter, saying, "You two fight over there."
In the end, Lee Seo-jin's tardiness uproar ended without a single apology. Earlier lines like "Don't call men" combined with prickly main-character Lee Seo-jin's persona once again brought viewers to laughter.
'The secretaries' is a real road-show entertainment program that closely cares for a star's day and accompanies them like a real manager, and each episode highlights Lee Seo-jin's distinctive 'prickly entertainment sensibility.'
