Actor Ji Hyun-woo, who returned to the musical stage after 11 years, reveals a passionate day through 'Omniscient Interfering View'.
Today (8th) at 11:10 p.m., the MBC entertainment program 'Omniscient Interfering View' episode 372 will depict Ji Hyun-woo's pre-show routine, in which the "passion craftsman" arrives at work five hours before the performance for a perfect stage, and the vivid backstage of the musical "Red Book."
After finishing a meal earlier, Ji Hyun-woo parted ways with his manager and took the subway alone to a zoo near the theater. When the panelists asked Ji Hyun-woo, who was watching a seemingly affectionate pair of monkeys with envy, "Do you want to get married these days?", he replied, "Just looking at kids these days makes me feel good. Marriage plans are…" leaving an enigmatic answer that stirred the studio.
Also in this episode, backstage scenes of the musical "Red Book," which drew attention for its star-studded casting including Ok Joo-hyun, Ivy, and Min Kyung-ah, are revealed. Ji Hyun-woo, who plays Mr. Brown, a gentleman and lawyer in the play, arrives at the venue five hours before the show starts and astonishes everyone with a level of diligence unlike any other.
Lead actors Min Kyung-ah and Song Won-geun from the earlier performance exclaimed in admiration, "Your show is five hours away, so why did you come this early?" and "As expected, Ji Hyun-woo." Kim Byung-sung, the manager who has been by Ji Hyun-woo's side for 22 years, testified to his thorough diligence, saying, "Hyun-woo always comes to the site first for every production, reads the script, and completely immerses himself in the character."
Arriving in the waiting room, Ji Hyun-woo begins his full-fledged "pre-show ritual." He steadily pursues meditation, yoga, and tear acting to raise his concentration. In particular, he introduces unique preparation methods that will bring fresh laughs and emotion to viewers, such as an unusual breathing technique using water and a straw and practicing a musical number in a handstand.
