In episode 9 of the SBS Fri-Sat drama Would You Merry Me (written by Lee Ha-na, directed by Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyuk), which aired on the afternoon of the 7th, wistful and thrilling moments continued between Kim Woo-joo (Choi Woo-shik) and Yu Meri (Jung So-min), who reunited after breaking up, while tension soared when Woo-joo and Meri's fake newlywed relationship was discovered by Baek Sang-hyun (Bae Na-ra). As a result, Would You Merry Me episode 9 recorded a peak rating of 8.7% and 7.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area, holding the No. 1 spot for Friday dramas and programs in the same time slot for five consecutive weeks. The 2049 target rating averaged 1.8% and rose as high as 2.37%, continuing strong buzz and popularity.
Woo-joo, the ex-fiancé who received the marriage registration form, discovered that Meri and he were still legally married and that Meri had claimed the prize by presenting a fake husband after winning a luxury townhouse. He threatened to expose that Woo-joo, who is the fourth generation of Myeongsoondang, had pretended to be a fake husband and told her to break up with Woo-joo. Meri, showing a tender heart trying to protect Woo-joo, caused a lump in the throat by saying, "Don't bring that person into this!"
When the ex-fiancé Woo-joo's threats began, Meri deliberately avoided him for fear of causing trouble for Woo-joo.
